    Hi There!

Just bought a new Roland SC540 setup and was told that Signlab was a fabulous program.

I had played with the demo and wasn’t as impressed as I was with the Flexisign demo but still, I took the word of the supplier and bought it.

Now basically I hate it. The RIP side of it produces awful colours, nothing like the Roland RIP that comes with the machine. Also it crashes all the time, especially when asked to do complex things. Additionally I was promised a "big manual" when in fact the manual is nothing short of useless and the installed help not much better.

Can anyone suggest anything I can do about any of the above gripes?
(The other thing I’m fed up about is that 7.1 version is out soon I now notice but I have been told I’ll probably have to pay even more money to get it 😥 )

    Not happy at all….. 🙁

    hi
after spending that sort of dosh i would expect the supplier to be at your in the morning sorting it out – the rip that comes with the roland is more than enough for most people and i like it a lot

my cadet came with the roland rip, although i use troop.

i do my designing signlab/corel, export as an esp and import into troop.

can`t you do the same with signlab and import into the roland rip… (if you`ve got it) i can send you a copy if you like.

you shouldn`t have been promised a manual, as all you get is alittle booklet nothing else.

when i bought e6, i got 6 hrs training free of charge..

cadlink are now offering training, for a fee, which is why they`ve stopped producing one, if you ask me..

it bugs me, suppliers not giving training etc. i got a full days instalation and training on the rip when i had the cadet installed..

perhaps £13000 isn`t all that much these days…

Upgraded my graphics card from 64mb to 128mb and RAM from 256 to 768 this solved some of the problems with signlab but the colours are still an issue. Instead of yellow and red I get mustard and maroon.

    Hi,
I had similar colour issues to start with.
I would advise you to download the uniform pantone colourchart and start playing from there…
I think you will find it in one of the forums on here.

I must admit the big mistake I made was buying at the cheapest price and not getting any training and only using the signlab rip… Other companys such as B&P and Silverskies seem to offer the cadet with the Troop rip but it costs a bit more.. I guess you gets what you pay for.

    Cheers
    Ian
