can anyone suggest a Sign Foam supplier please?
Posted by Andrew John Sawyer on January 16, 2008 at 2:56 pmCan anyone help? I need to purchase sign foam/sign rok substrate for shaping/engraving, the sample I have is 18mm thick and beige-ish in colour, but can’t find a supplier. Thanks

I have been looking as well. I think these ship internationally. http://www.signfoam.com./index.html

Thanks for that, I’ve found Trident Foams http://www.tridentfoams.co.uk who may be able to supply, their products seem less dense though.

quote nnsg:Have you seen this company? http://thegrain.co.uk/index.htm
That company is in my town, they dont tend to use foam, its mostly sandblasted canadian cedar, & medite, (exterior mdf) , they do use a type of foam, it sknown as "versalite" at Righton, but not sure about amari etc.
They do all my CNC machining, but never seen them use signfoam.
All the lettering you see on that site is exterior MDF or medite, and spray painted with acrylic paint. And thanks, you just reminded me I have to ring them, they have 2 of my edge lit signs I had them take to a trade show, that I need to collect.

I’ve seen some lads using urethane foam for signage (it beige in colour) and has a finer texture than expanded polystyrene foam. Extruded polystyrene also has a fine texture but will melt if solvents are applied to it.( that’s why they use the urethane foam). It’s used as an insulator so is available from some building providers.
