I would like to purchase a mug press and sublimation printer and I am really confused who to use. I have seen the sites of Dom Global and was quite impressed ,but there have been some not so good postings about them. Then the e auction site is a case " stay away " that was where I saw a press which you could also print onto pint glasses , think the price was £139. Xpres seems to be good as seen them in quite a few posts and been to their web site. So I am after the press and the printer to be A3 as would purchase a heat press at a later date. I have seen the Epson 1400 with cis, but like the idea of just cartridges and then seen posting about the Rioch GX5050 and this appears to be a cracking printer. If I am printing mugs how much does a single colour or full colour full wrap print cost. Any information would be much appreciated.

    Hi mate

I recently bought the full mug system from xpres. This included the Epson 1400 printer and there studio mug press. I opted for the 1400 printer with the cis system, this was because of the in prices. The cartridges are 66ml and cost £60 each and there are 4 of them. The ink for the cis system is £53 per bottle at 125ml. Even thought the cis has six colours as opposed to 4 i prefer it. I seem to remember working out that to do a full print of A4 cost about 25p including the paper but you will get three mugs from one sheet. I would buy the full start up package from xpres this includes everything you need to get you started and has loads of mugs for samples and to practice on. Also i had some technical queries when setting the system up and they were very helpful. they also give you the option to pick up the equipment and get some training at there site using your own equipment. If you are going to do this make sure you can transport the printer home with the cis system full of ink.

If you opt for the cis system make sure you switch the printer on every couple of days and you should be ok. I left mine for a week or so and it clogged up but a couple of cleaning cycles and it was fine.

    Hope this helps

Hi there, in my mind i bought a press and mug press’s from Dom Global who were very helpful and have got used to using them. To me they are kind of like the "Proton" of the car world….. they will do the job and they will sort any problems but for a little more Xpres or Magic touch would be my choice if i was spending the money again. Hope this helps

magic touch although helpful sent me the worse box of mugs imaginable, pits galore and to be honest wasn’t impressed. Dom global, omg god those, their mugs won’t stand a normal wash never mind a dishwasher!!. BMS, well their 11oz mug were slightly better, they withstand a dishwasher but they have what look an issue with the silicon on the handle join, i’ve also had some that were terribly pitted, but to be fair on BMS the last lot of mugs i had from them were perfect. The mugs i like are from Listawood, so i order from Listawood and as a back up BMS
