can anyone help with van layout please?
Posted by Neill Hague on April 26, 2007 at 4:17 pmHi all
i have to do a job for a guy who has bought a new Combo in silver.
He is a magician & kids entertainer. Before I send him a visual can I get opinions please of this layout I have put together?
I would do a similar thing for the rear doors, not allowed to put anything on the glass. He wants to spend no more than £200, & is open to any colours/fonts.
Only thing I cant use is balloons.thanks very much

I’d only change the colour of the phone number. It takes away from the logo.

Neil I think that looks like a lot of work for £200 but I do like it !
Are you going to print the main logo or are you going to layer vinyl ?I think the fonts you have used are suitable and the layout works. Does the van have a sliding door on both sides if not you may need to tweek the "magician and children’s entertainer" on the other side. .. other than that I think its cool and at £200 very reasonably priced too ! customer should be well happy 😀

Neill that works for me, I also like the fonts you have chosen and the little stars are cool 😎

I think it fits the bill! 😀 It’s cheery and fun which is exactly suited to the job. I agree about the telephone number, but perhaps even just reducing it in size a bit and see how it looks.
But I reckon your customer will be pleased with that. -
good design of vehicle graphics is a disappearing art 😉

Thanks all for your comments, much appreciated. think I will make the phone number a bit smaller.
I like it just wanted to make sure that it doesn’t come across as tacky!
I will put up a photo when done.Dave, I am going to print the hat/wand logo but cut the rest in vinyl.
It is a lot on there for £200 but I reckon I can get him to spend a bit more. 😀
I will need to tweak the other side as there is no sliding door.one other thing I thought was amusing, the guy works as an undertaker during the week!!
thanks again

this is a true story i was once putting up some signs at a local funeral director had a young lad with me still wet behind the ears……old guy pulls up with a fresh stiff…asks if we could give him a hand to carry said stiff (in body bag) into building, I told the young lad to give hand so he obliged whilst carrying he asked whats in the bag 😮 when i shouted and told him he screamed and dropped the stiff 😮 😮 :lol1:

Last year we were doing a job in a funeral parlour. Loads of etch glass work getting done. Anyway John went down one morning to do the job and when he moved on from one area to the next the funeral director said, ‘that next room you’re going into, there’s someone in it, do you mind?’ John said no that was fine. But he said he felt like he was being watched!!!!!!!!!!!
He was glad when he got that job finished! -
MY wife and I were staying with her grandmother when she, unfortunately, died 😮
I had to ring my wife’s dad to tell him his mum had died. (Never ever want to do something like that again ever… )
Anyways, it was in a really small country town, and the one man ambulance station was also required to pickup the deceased, as there was no funeral director or doctor any closer than an hour away.
Anyway, when the ambulance driver got there, he was covered, head to toe in blood, having just returned from a huge fatality on the other side of town.
He was all apologetic for his appearance, but I said it was OK. Then, he tried ringing some ‘on call’ help, but no one was answering their phones. So he asked me if I was OK to help him cover the body and carry it out to the ambulance.
I honestly didn’t have a problem at all… until he tried, and failed, to remove her wedding ring from her hand.
I just couldn’t do it after that.. Can’t tell you why, it just seemed really hard after that. That was like 24 years ago, and I remember the moment like it was yesterday.
on a brighter note, I love the design too. Pretty cheap tho isn’t it?

Neil, that’s grand, and a lot of design for little dosh!

I’ve sent the visual & upped the price to £225.00 +VAT for both sides & rear doors. Hopefully he will like it & go for the extra cost.
I worked out that it will use 10 metres of 380mm vinyl (most of the stars cut in the waste) plus the printed logos.thanks
