I see what you mean, it is a very straight forward design. Is the main logo text the same as the gent’s other signage?

Thing is, I know its not overly creative, but if thats what he wants it may be just better to do the job and get your money. Fair play, we all like to do something creative and eye catching, but we’re all in the trade to make money and if something as straight forward as this comes in and thats exactly how they want it, I personally would just do it.

If you can post a bigger picture though, I’m sure we can all come up with some alternatives if you really want to. Its just that the more complicated the design, the longer it takes to fit and ultimately it takes longer to get your money 😕 Sorry if that sounds a little ruthless, but business is business 🙄

    Cheers, Dewi

    Yup I agree with Dewi.
If he did say he was open to suggestion then you have the green light to spruce it up abit, at a FEE of course.

If this is what he has already on all his adds, biz cards, etc., and doesnt want to have you do anything to it, I would just crank it out, give him great service and get his money. Sometimes bringing it up to your client that his logo sux and you could do better will only complicate matters.

Most of the time these customers already have in mind what they want so it’s tough to change there vision on what they want.

You can ask him if he would like some improvements on the design and give your professional opinion. If he isnt receptive to your opinions then just cut and stick it.

I have cranked out and done some of the most ugliest signs on the earth!

Its all just part of the gig man!

Hi chaps, thanks for the replies.

yes unfortunately the building facia signs are of this font and design, just thought it would look better if we could “jazz” the van up a little, make it stand out a little, whilst still maintaining the originallity of the other signs

anyway, see what you can come up with, open minded.

    cheers

I find that if a customer has a preset idea of what he wants, its best not look for too many changes. After all this is a marketing issue and he should know how too market his product.

This van looks as though it conveys all the info he wishes to. I would do no more than suggest adding a shadow to the name, maybe a frame around the descriptive text and see if he has anything to fill the empty panel.

peter, thanks for your comments, i would generally agree that if a customer has an idea, i would not usually mess with it.

however, the customer said “see if you can do something with it” also it does already have a grey shadow on the maroon text.

    cheers

Can you place the JJP DOORS Ltd at the top of the van, external grp & steel doors below that in 1 line, and the tel number below that .
Enlarge the photo of the door over a larger area of the van and fade the photo like a sort of water mark effect so you can make out what it is but allows legibility of the lettering.
