    Hi Guys
I’ve been asked to duplicate this logo however not sure where to start but its about time i learned. Now is the picture a stock image or will i need to copy it?, How is this procedure done if i only have a jpeg or gif?
    thanks Paul.

I use Omega and it’s simple to freehand draw a simple logo like this one.
I have done it for you but every time I try to attach it to this post, it crashes my comp 👿

Will try again later for you.

    Ain’t got it yet 🙁

I think I’m becoming a cyber ghost once again on this site 🙁

Go to my www and send me an email from the link on there.

    That should do it.

Paul, in all honesty looking at that I would suggest to them that it might be time for a change and then redo the whole lot for them. I don’t think that image does much for them at all and you could easily improve it for them.

I agree. Is this a customer of yours or a friend or family member who wants the work done. You will find that in addition to all the skills required in design and manufacture of signs etc, you will need a great deal of diplomacy and persuasive skill. This really needs a rehash and a frank discussion with the client.

    Good Luck Peter

Its actually for a customer, however feel acquiring some of the "basic" skills first might be best.
In flexisign there is a function called autotrace, i am then copying this into signblazer for print but the edges are not smooth, is there a way to resolve this?

    that was your question.
auto traces have there place text and smooth graphic shapes are not it,

start buy finding the line tools.
try copying some letters draw over the top of some text. learning where to place the nodes is most important.
cheat and use box and circle commands find out about weld and trim, there are demos where you found the vectorwise demo .

i have been digitizing for over 17 years and still learning new tricks

Paul as has been said a new sign is necessary you would be far better do a new one than trying to copy, so then you set your own style
    just an idea

    Paul,

You can use photshop first to select the white color and fill it again the white then save it and import this JPG picture by COREL Trace and you can get what you want very easy.

    good luck

Paul, don’t want to be rude but surely you should gain some of the basic skills before doing any work for a customer. Just my opinion but to me the most important thing is to try and do what is best for the customer and if this means talking to them about their whole image then that is what you should be doing not just leaving things until you have gained a bit more knowledge.

Don’t forget you can always ask for help on the boards if you feel you are unsure of what is best and how to go about it.
