    Hi All

    Well I might just be taking on a very difficult job (logistically speaking) I am moving 65 miles away next weekend and have a request in London to do a fascia that has to be completed by 4 June and the building has not been built yet.

    Anyway….. I need some help on this design to speed things up a bit. My first go is attached for crits as well, thinking of silver text (shiny mirror like)

    I also would like some suggestions on what sort of fascia I should make (material wise) I need to try make it a quick and easy manufacture and install so nothing fancy please.

    All he wants is his logo and the words "Hair and Beauty" his Tel No. and "www.identity-uk.com"
    (has not specified any fonts so suggestions please)

    size of fascia is 625mm x 6850mm.

    This is his brief so far:

    Re design, I am open to suggestions – we want something quite modern and funky but not something that will date. Not even sure if we want it lit by a light box or by floodlights! So we are very open to suggestions here.
    Just to let you know fascia dimensions – 625mm by 6580mm, so any lettering shouldn’t be more than 600mm high, but presumably the logo can overhang the top edge of the fascia as long as it is screwed/fixed onto the 600mm.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated on this one.

    Thanks in advance

    Warren

    Advice please;

    I am thinking of doing this all in acrylic so it has that shiny polished feel.

    A few questions;

    1) I was thinking of using 6mm clear acrylic for the logo in 2 pieces (brown box and black box) I want to attach the brown piece to the top of the black piece………

    ……………..BUT……………….

    I was thinking of doing something a bit different and was wondering if anybody has done it or knows what it might look like (good or bad), I want to apply white vinyl to the rear of the acrylic and the black on the top with the image reversed out and same concept for the brown piece.

    What do you think of that idea?

    2) How will I bond the top piece on to the bottom piece and then the bottom piece on to the back piece (black acrylic sheets) which will run the length of the fascia? and can this be done with vinyl on the reverse ie: will the bond hold?

    3) How do I attach the acrylic to the wall without using a frame?

    4) How will the joins look if I butt the acrylic pieces next to each other to make up the 6850mm width?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    i did a job last week using gloss black 3mm reynobond which was folded in to a tray, the gloss was very high and this could be used for your sign along with the acrylic

    Good idea Richard and nice looking job by the way.

    Any idea how I would attach the acrylic logo to the reynobond? VHB tape good enough???? and will it be OK if it had a layer of vinyl both sides?

    cheers mate (and it was good to meet you for about 1 second at the show 😳 😕 )

    Yes sorry mate it was only a short hello, how big would the other part of acrylic be? I have done a few jobs with d/s tapes and are still in place

    The back sheet would have to cover the full area of 625mm x 6850mm (I would think 3 or 4 pieces) Just worried about what the surface is like that I will be attaching it to 😕

    I then want to attach the logo pieces of acrylic on top of the back piece of acrylic. (oh and by the way I use Thompsons that you suggested a few months back, Ian’s a great guy)

    Alternatively I use a tray for the back but will have to order than in as I do not have the space and tools to make it myself.

    I have also been thinking about a matt black background so the silver mirror vinyl will stand out much more and give that smooth and matt mixed effect, don’t know yet 😕

    cheers mate
