can anyone help with this file please?
Posted by Marcella Ross on May 14, 2007 at 1:33 pmI’m having problems with this file. I can open it but in Signlab it’s all weird and when I try to weld it it causes Signlab to crash. I’ve opened it in Adobe and Corel and it appears fine but I need to get it into Signlab looking correct and that’s where I’m struggling.
I don’t know how to ‘weld’ in Adobe or Corel, so if anyone could weld the logos on this and resave it for me I’m sure that would be a big help.

when I download it into Corel draw the word Association has the ciation part of the word overlayed over the Assoc part, so the only word I can read is a.ss and then the n. with the rest of the word obscured by 2 lots of letters.
Also the kerning in Scottish looks too close in the Scott, now I’m not sure if this is something that happened in translation between programs but when I open it that’s what I get.Edit:
I just checked in Illustrator too and same thing happens -
Steve it appears fine one minute then it’s all over the place in Signlab. The MOJO part is a mass of cut lines.
I’m waiting to see if Mr Elsewhere has managed it ……….. but his email is taking the scenic route! 😕 😀 -
Do you want each logo as a seperate object or all of them as one welded together?
is it for cut vinyl or printed? -
after a closer look there is more work to tweak can you save it and post as a jpeg so i can see what its supposed to look like please.

Hi Marcella,
I would like to know what application was used to generate that ai file. I was having same issue bringing into SignLab, so I brought into Illustrator and resaved.
I’m running SignLab Print and Cut with the Thermal Module, and I’m finding that the red portion of "MOJO" comes in with an overprint property. My fix for this was to drag-and-drop the Knock Out property onto red in the Job Palette.
Please find files attached to this thread. I trust you get this in time.
Cheers,

thanks Rod.
I have no idea what application it was generated in. But it was a mess!
Sorted now though.
Many thanks 😀
