can anyone help with quick question about corel draw?
Posted by Adam McGuire on November 21, 2006 at 11:00 amHi all,
I have a little problem with CorelDraw. It’s the same in versions 9, 10 and 11 to my knowledge. I want to position some text dead centre with an eps logo. I can set coordinated for the logos no problem, but I cannot work out how to set the coordinates for the text box! Call me stupid, but I can’t find it anywhere! I’m using Corel 10 in work as that’s what is on the network here. I usually use 11 or 9. I can’t use flexi (in which I can easily locate anything) as I don’t have my laptop with me.
Any help most appreciated!

If the text is done as artistic text, rather than paragraph text I would just select the eps logo, then place a ruler guide on the central cross, then move the text and line it up to the guide (if that makes sense!)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. What you’re saying does make sense, but it’s paragraph text not artistic. I might try again. It was only for a mock up, but I wanted it all to be centred to the page.

Or you can click on "layout" at the the top, then "align and distrubute", there are different options you can choose that might help
-
If you need it centre of the page just select it and press P on the keyboard
-
Group your logo. Select your text, hold shift, select the logo then hit "e" and "c". Done!
(corel 11)

There are loads of shortcuts in Draw, try this – hold the shift key down and drag corner node, object will then resize in proporting from the centre.

That’s great! I use some of the shortcuts already – for copying / duplicating etc, but I didn’t realise there were all those layout ones in Corel.
You’ll be suprised at how much time it saves!
Thank you for that, it’ll come in handy!

You’re welcome!

Too many to mention and VBA can be assigned short cuts too.
