Has anyone encountered a problem with the Cutmaster plugin for illustrator – its great but ive come across a problem when i dont want it to cut hidden layers, it just ignores the option and cuts the hidden layer anyway.

ok i am going to say this, its obvious. 😕 but i would say its a software problem mate, not your cutter. my honest opinion is that the cutter will only cut what its being sent.
i could be wrong, but i remember years ago having this problem with my roland machine cutting corel files. i cursed the machine to death.. funny enough i still have the same machine years on and it cuts perfectly.
if i could remember what i did to solve this issue i would tell you. but being so long ago i cannot remember, so cannot elaborate mate. sorry.
im sure there are many pros on this board that will point you in the right direction to solve this problem 😉

The problem is that ‘Output Hidden Layers’ ON/OFF function is only valid for the top layer of any set of layers.

If this function is selected , you would expect that all layers selected as ‘hidden’ will not be output. This is only true if the topmost layer in any one set of layers is specified as ‘hidden’. If, for example, we have a set of layers A, B, C, and the top layer A is selected as ‘hidden’, all the layers beneath it will also be treated as ‘hidden’. however, if the top layer A is selected as ‘display’ (cut), all the layers beneath it will also be cut, even though they may have been specified as hidden. The customer just needs to make sure that the topmost layer in any one set is ‘hidden’ or select the specific contour line to cut the desired image.

Does that sound confusing to you? it certainly confuses me! 😀
