  • can anyone help with graphic styles and omega?

Posted by Jason Davies on July 6, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Just a question out of interest, we upgraded to the latest version not so long ago but only really use it to drive our Edges.

I would like to produce more interesting drop shadows and outlines than we are able to do simply using illustrator.

Are there any ‘nice’ preloaded techniques that people use in Omega, I would like to be able to apply the traditional ‘brush style’ drop shadow if possible??

    Thanks

    Jase

have you tried the alien skin eye candy as a plug in, it works with most graphic programs.
does omega have a plugin folder?

Jason, if possible could you create an example in Illy and email me the file (ai, eps, PDF) Not being an Illy user I would like to see what you mean by "brush" shadows.

Hi Tony, I am interested in Omegas ability to produce different types of drop shadows or 3D effects. I should have explained it better. I am sure there was a new function for this in the new version, maybe wrong.

    Regards

    Jason

Starting in Omega 3.0 we have a tool call Medial Axis. If you have 3.0 or later there should be a "How to" or some video on the DVD about this tool.

Again, if you want to send me a sample AI anytime.

Thanks Tony I need to spend some time on this. I know I am missing some of its important features. We literally only use this software to drive our Edge. All artwork is developed in Illustrator and transferred across. Doesn’t help as we only use Macs for design work

Now wouldn’t a Illustrator plug-in to support the Edge for both Mac and PC be a wonderful thing?
