Looking for a purple car wrap/replacement paint vinyl.

    3M 85 and kpmf vw1 don’t have a purple.

    Anyone tell me a supplier?

Maybe have to get a print?

Try Vinyl Logistics, I think I have had purple from them before.

    Dunno Martin.

How serious are the curves on the car?

Do you actually need a wrapping film, or would a good quality cast do the job?

saph tks I’ll phone them and see what they say.

John, I tried doing a bonnet with 900 which was murder, tried a bit of 3m 85 series and it was a breeze. Not so much a recess issue as a grab and stretch one, if you know what I mean?

There’s a bit of a difference I found flood coating a panel that’s facing you than doing a bonnet that is sunny side up. The thicker material really made a difference.

Warren, If it comes to it I will give the 751 a go, quite grabby though don’t you think? You’ve had the training what would you go for?

i agree James 751c is to sticky for me, i can flood flat surfaces dry with it with out problems. but a bonnet i would probably fail.
we use image perfect 5700 and would possibly get away with it but best use some proper wrap stuff. which would then be easy compared.
done several bonnets with printed wrap vinyl and no big deal

    James,

I agree, we all like a bit of grab and stretch, but I really think we should concentrate on work here. 😀

Maybe it’s what you’re used to, but my lads will happily flood coat in 900 all day long, whereas they don’t like 751. They say the initial tack on 751 is too high and that makes it difficult to work with. Certainly I can see the difference in finish after they’ve been working with both materials.

Of course, there’s also the big price difference between 900 and 751 to consider.

Hi James, my comment was a bit of fun really as I wouldn’t even try using 751c for wrapping and also only use on flat surfaces dry.

If you remember the orange BMW I did that was Avery 900, I had just finished the wrap course so was still a little green behind the collar but after a few small test attempts I got the hang of it and wrapped the whole thing virtually no problem.

I have not used any other wrap solid colour besides the bubble free Hexis stuff which leaves a horrible (yet subtle) texture to it o not that nice smooth glossy "paint like" finish.

Avery 900 is good and does the job well but not sure how it compares.

    I wouldn’t use 751c ………… (but if anybody else needs any 😉 😉 😉 )

    cheers

    Warren
