  • can anyone help with design layout for a dental surgery?

    Brief –

Greek Dentist set up in Welsh Wales (84% first language speakers) and wants to keep the Welsh in the forefront. Inside is crisp, clean with a mix of antique furniture in a "spot lit" open clinical space.

Internal signs are deep engraved oak and mahogany paint filled, but he cant stretch to having the same for the front and has settled for dibond and vinyl.

He is open to suggestions on colours, layout and fonts, but wants clean and simple layout. The tooth is not important, but I just dabbled with it in and out.

As they say 10 heads are better than one……am I on the right track, or any improvements to help.

    Thanks

Fonts = Bahamas Light and Amerigo MT

    Hi Graham

What is the colour scheme inside? Has he specified blue dibond? What colour is the engraved infill on the indoor signs?

With all that hardwood outside, and wood inside the white fascia makes the blue sign look like a pimple sitting on a rock-as it were! 😉 Sorry!
I would be thinking of painting the fascia and adding same-coloured board with -perhaps-cream vinyl over the top (sorry, not at work so can’t show what I mean).

Scheme inside is white, oak laminate floor, open high beams, clean, uncluttered and simple. Not using the facia board for direct vinyl as its not in very god condition, but know what you mean regarding the blue, which is why the other two in the ai file are white.

Oak sign black fill, Mahogany sign cream fill……..

Andrew, looks fantastic, just got to see if he will push for a full width panel. I did suggest putting vinyl on the windows, but he has used some kind of rubberised frosting spray on the inside!!!

Andrew lovely colour against the wood. Graeme, that low down you could put the vinyl on the outside Might be a pig to apply though!

The ply is well past its best, the wood is breaking up along the grain and would not give a good finish, especially viewed so close up. Going to have to cover with something good.

No Graeme I was on about the glass panels at the bottom. If the fascia’s shit of course it needs proper treatment! Gonna shut up now 😳

    Thank you.

When I first visited, the glass was clear and he hadn’t applied the stuff on the inside. Its a spray on frost effect that has a rubbery feeling, got to find what it is as it might work well with stencils. Mentioned at that point about frosting, but he had already committed to buying this stuff.

I do however really like Andrews window graphic, and it could be fitted quite easily to the outside.
