    Hi All

Help needed please. Have just purchased a second hand PC60 from Victory. No drivers etc. came with it but have down loaded driver from Roland. Will want to use it with Corel Draw v12.

My question is: Will I need any other driver/plug-in so I can print and cut. Sorry if this sound a daft question ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    Regards
    Lee

I don’t use Corel for my PC600 Lee (I use signlab) but as far as I know you just install the printer driver through windows as you would any printer. Then select the print option from Corel to drive your PC60. Scrolling through the printer setup pages gives you options to print, print and cut or cut by colour or line type.

Perhaps Nik or Dewi can explain more about using Corel with a PC60

    Phil is right.

I used my PC60 with corel without any problems. It just runs as a normal printer, but as phil says, you associate the outline in corel with a cut path, and when you go to print, if the outline you have selected is in the picture, it will automatically cut it.

It was pretty easy from memory.

    hi lee ๐Ÿ˜›

it is fairly straight forward to cut from corel…take your image you want cut then put an outline round it, make sure it’s a hairline, select colour and change to magenta, next you go into print setup and select cutting..and make sure you change the cutting colour to magenta ๐Ÿ˜€ hope you understood that okay ๐Ÿ˜›

    Hi Dex

Got ours from Victory Design. Paid ยฃ1,900 plus VAT. They said that they had given it a full check over and found nothing wrong. Got new CYMK ribbons with it as well. Only down side. No drivers. Got them from Roland.

    Give them a call.

Thanks for the help Phil, Nik & Shane – I’ll have a go on Monday at printing/cutting. I only want to do small runs of labels etc on it. May try the garment film from Victory, that you can use with this system.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

    Once again ‘Thanks’ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

If you set your cut line to “hairline” it will cut no problem. No need to set a colour, but be carefull if using clipart from a library as sometimes your PC60 will pick up cut lines from the clipart and catch you out by surprise ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Hi Lee,

I recently used the Victory print film, results are excellent, but be sure the transfer has totally cooled down (i.e. colder than a cold thing ! ๐Ÿ™‚ ) or you’ll end up with some adhesive left on it.

Other down side is it will curl at the edges ๐Ÿ™ , they do say you need to print then apply transfer film, and replace to cut, but since the PC60 doesn’t have optical can be a bit hit and miss on this. I’m still waiting for a sample of their other film, which hopefully should resolve this.

OH and don’t forget to wipe vinyl with ISO before printing, and remember to clean the head with the pen after use.

Another thought I’ve also recently been using Grafityps grafijuice, and the results again are excellent, I apply with a foam brush, first one direction then crossways over this. Need to use in a cool area or it dries to quick and doesn’t get the chance to find own level and smooth out, also helps to smooth out the lines which occur from printing with the PC60/600.

Best of all whilst still wet you can wash out the brush with normal soap and water.

I did try a sponge roller to begin with like Nik said results were awful, switched to the sponge brush problem solved.

I get them from my local art shop – 3 pack of different sizes ยฃ1.95.

Thanks Nik, Mike & Red D.

I’ve never tried it with a brush of any kind, just spray it. I’ll give it a shot. ๐Ÿ˜€

Didn’t mean to hi-jack the thread sorry Lee. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    Hi All

Sorry for not replying, but we have just got our broadband connection in our new unit and as the PC 60 is in the unit it would have been a bit pointless to ask any more questions, while I was at home.

Scozzi. You didn’t hi-jack anything. Any questions/answers regarding the PC60 will be helpful.

A big thank you to all who helped with answers.

Red Dragon: I will be phoning Victory for some of the garment film. Got some hi-viz garments to do for a local carnival club. I’ll have a go with that.

I take it that using ‘Frogjuice’ helps prolongs the life of the print?

Anyway, I’ll have a go at doing some labels and see how I get on.

Just one last question. Can the PC60 do contour cutting ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    Thanks for your help
