What software are you using?
How are you connecting from the laptop to the plotter?
-
sounds like the plotter was offline when you sent the file.

We are using sign blazer, been on to Graphtec they say its a software fault there must be a pause feature somewhere but i have never touched anything too complicated for me…If i send jobs then shut the laptop down and restart it as soon as it comes back on the plotter cuts the jobs..Any ideas PLEASE…..

Have you tried turning the plotter on before you start the laptop ?? I know a lot of machines use USB to serial converters and with serial you would have to have the device switched on before starting the computer so the computer recognised it.
Worth a try. -
How long do you leave it to see if it starts cutting?
Mine takes about 15-30 seconds before it starts.
If you have the sort function turned on in the menu it takes longer as it has to sort the information in its memory for cutting.
Another thing to try is to send the job then press pause on the cutter and then press it again to resume.

Tried always turning machine on first second..The software has always worked o.k. Machine cuts more or less straight away once file is sent usually..Will go try the pause thing now graphtec are insistent its the software not the machine so i cant see it working but will try it its just did this yesterday..DOING MY HEAD IN NOW…

I don’t know the software you use but with mine all the jobs are stored in the production manager, the more jobs that are saved the longer it takes for the machine to start plotting.
Every now and again I have to go in and delete all the old jobs.Have you tried speaking to the people at signblazer ?? Might be something you have turned on or off without realising. I would also check through the plotter menus on the control panel just to make sure nothing has changed.
You could also try uninstalling the plotter and then installing it again.

Re install sign blazer that may resolve it and only takes 2 mins, see if that helps, if you dont have it any more you can get from UScutter’s site
-
Try using Cutting Master 2 that comes with the cutter

Lucy, Signblazer is out of production, can not be updated or registered any longer.
The sooner you dump it and use another program the better IMHO. -
Saturday i was trying to print off some invoices and some how sent them to the plotter rather than the printer…So they were holding the queue up..Deleted them now and its all O.K. what a numpty..
