  • can anyone help with corel toolbar problem please?

Posted by Paul Rollason on February 11, 2005 at 6:16 pm

    Hi all

Since installing winplot my toolbars on corel have gone haywire.

I used to have all the toolbars i needed on two lines neatly nested and i knew where everything was.

Now I can only put one toolbar on each line so it now takes up the top fith of the screen and it’s making me sad.

    Help

I’ve found when installing other programs they can do wierd things to Corel. I personally use the main toolbar inset to the left, the detail toolbar to the base and the palette to the right, giving me the maximum area to work in. I then use the shaping toolbars etc as floating toolbars and only bring them in when necessary.

    Cheers, Dewi

What version of COrelDRAW are you using? Are you saying you cannot nest two toolbars side-by-side?

A good idea is to save your workspace so that if thing to go haywire you can easily import. (only takes a few seconds). Take note of what Trev B says he is probably more knowledgeable about Corel than all of us. Trev, can you get Cadlink to put in a ‘save workspace’ like Corels I’ve hade mine go a couple of times in SL and had to reconstruct.

press F8 to reset to default settings when starting up CorelDRAW

F8 reset is done to reset CorelDRAW default settings. You simply hold down the F8 key while you start CorelDRAW (Keep it held down until CorelDraw opens). This will usually fix any accumulated problems within the program. The only downfall is that you will have to reset all of your Options settings.
    Hope this helps.

Before resetting the entire application with F8, simply reset the toolbars. F8 will reset data globally, though it likely isn’t needed (a very good tip though).

    1. Tools | Options | Customization | Command bars.
    2. Click the reset button for each active toolbar.

Then again, if you have no other customizations you want to keep, simply reset the application using F8.

    Cheers!

    Hi Trev B

Yes thats right, I cannot get the toolbars to nest side by side. each toolbar has a line of its own.

A reason for this could be because usually one of the toolbars (property bar) changes in size when doing certain tasks.

    i.e. making a box….. then switching over to text…..

Mine doesnt change cause i made a custom workspace 😉
