  • can anyone help with an embroidery logo please?

Posted by Marcella Ross on September 19, 2006 at 8:54 am

    Hi folks,

I’m looking for a bit of design help here. I’m looking to rearrange / improve on the logo below to make it suitable to embroider onto T-shirts. I think this is too busy but when I’m simplifying it ……. I don’t like what I’m coming up with! 😕
I’m also not sure what would work best for embroidery. It will be a small chest logo that this will be used for. And it’s going on to a red fabric 😕

Any suggestions and help most welcome! 😀

    Hi Marcella
Do they want to stay with the paw-print, or are they open to other ideas?

    Lorraine,

the paw is used on the website and paperwork, so it may be best to use it. But any other suggestion wouldn’t go amiss.

    Just one or two observations.
If at some later stage the logo goes to a breast pocket position it will be better in square format, which will need to be about 80mm square (max) and bear in mind that the text can’t really be smaller than 6mm cap height. Try to keep away from thin strokes on the letters, they are difficult to stitch.
Your customer might be better off with polo shirts rather than tee shirts because the fabrics are far more stable than a cotton tee shirt

Hi Marcella, just a quick idea, haven’t finished it, but how about removing the ‘splodges’ on the puppy’s body and replacing them with the black paw-prints?
You could have the body embroidered all white with detailing in black?
    Just a thought.

many dog clubs concentrate on obedience, so another idea may be a collie-type, sitting at heel and looking up at his handler.

thanks for the info Steve, I dont know the requirements for embroidery, so that was a help! It is polo shirts they’re going on to, as you say better fabric.

Lorraine, that’s cute! I know this club very well ……………. my hubby is the dog trainer!!!!!!!! I did another logo with a dog sitting looking up – but he wasn’t keen …………. mainly because the dog I used was a labrador and not a GSD ……… he’s just biased!!! 😀

I’ve redrawn another that looks more like a badge, perfectly circular he likes it ……….. it’s just me that’s being fussy!

    thanks folks!
