  • can anyone help with a signlab/cadet problem please?

    Hi all

I’ve just bought a brand new PC with windows XP and service pack 2. I’ve tried to install signlab 7, print & cut and Easysign V4 (both original copies with dongles) and come up agianst problem after problem. I’ve sorted most of them with patches but there’s a couple I’m totally stumped on.

    1. somehow my cadet won’t print and cut. It says it needs configuring with a new driver but when I check in my device manager it says the device is installed and working fine. If I press print it will print but won’t print & cut???????

    2. Easysign won’t open at all. It says driver is not installed and to reinstall software. I’ve reinstalled it 3 times now and still it won’t open.

Can anyone suggest any patches, downloads etc for overcoming these problems as I have exhausted every avenue I can think of

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I’m pulling my hair out on this one

    Thanks in advance

    Stuart

Hi Stuart: I’ve e-mailed CadLink support on this one. They should post a reply shortly. Steve.

As far as I’m aware there is a download from Cadlink website for your hasp dongle for spack2 mine worked without it and I think there is an update for Signlab 7 to 7.1 just do it through Signlab update when it comes up tell it to look on cadlink web site but I think you have to register your copy first.

Thanks everyone. I realy do appreciate it.

I’ve sorted my easysign problem out – I just downloaded the 39MB patch from their website and everything appears to be fine this morning. I’m still stuck on the cadet/signlab problem though……….. bloody service pack 2!!!!!!!!!

I have registered on the cadlink website and downloaded the latest update but still it won’t operate the cadet – it will print on it if I just print like you were printing a piece of A4 on a normal printer but when you go to print & cut it says the machine isn’t configured yet when it asks for the driver I put it in but it won’t recognise it?

Hi Stuart, Firstly go to install cutting devices from the file menu and choose the cadet, with Roland as the manufacturer. In Cut> Plotting defaults choose the SP300 port. Then go to the file menu and choose “Launch Print and Cut manager”, choose the Uniform cadet from the listing, insert the CD and and it will install, when complete go to printers and Manage printers in Print and cut manager, and set the port to SP300, then click close.
Now go back to Signlab7, and “print and cut setup wizard” Follow the wizard through. When you get to cut registration mark, you can either leave this as none or choose printers own reg mark. The difference here is “none” will automatically cut as soon as the print is finished, the “printers own” will print reg marks on the print for you to remove from the printer, laminate and then cut. Click Finish on the wizard and you should be all set.

get back to me if you need more help. Ray
