    Hello,

I have been using penloc for outside road signs, I have today had a
rail come away. Can anybody tell me if they have had this problem and advice on what else I could use.

    Many thanks

VHB double sided tape is the stuff to use Angela.

Various suppliers and brands available,we use 3M 4952 VHB

At a guess I would say poor surface prep to it failing.

    Hi Angela

I have had similar problems before

You need to make sure that all surfaces totally de greased and keyed with scotch brite pad or similar so that the glue has something to bite into.

You also need to make sure that the two parts of the glue are actually mixing correctly especially when you first start using the glue

    Hope this helps

Interesting, I was just thinking of stocking some for sign trays etc.
I saw the info sheets stressed that the surface had to be roughed up though.

I’ve also seen glued aluminum signs come apart because corrosion has lifted the surface coating.
