  • can anyone help with a flexi update problem please?

I’ve updated from version 7.5 to 8.5. but the program is extremely slow to respond to commands and displays a "not responding" message whilst it catches up (other programs operate without problems). I’ve got 2GB of RAM. The largest files I’m working with is about 150,000KB. My hard disk has about 37.1GB of free space.

I’ve tried SA International web site but can’t access their e-support (some problem with their server??). But I have been able to email a technical support representative but the time delay between me and them is not helping. They don’t seem to have a 24hr service.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction please?

    Gordon,
Which version do you have? Version #8.5v1 SP2 have got an issue with it. My computer keep crashing after installing SP2. I was told by Mark Rugen from givemehelp.com that Flexi released SP3 one week after they released SP2 to fix the problem.
Did you uninstalled version 7.5 before installing 8.5?
SAi e-support take ages to reply, try writing to Mark Rugen to see if he can help.

    Thanks Heng
    I’ve got Version 8.5v1 SP2, so I’ll track down SP3.
    Thanks again

    hi gordon

    a couple of things.

i have flexi running on two PCs of different speed. I do find that the one PC 2GB ram dual cor. 256MB graphics card. Does run a bit slow. you need to turn off the smooth edges of screen fonts in the preferences menu. This does help a lot.

My next PC is a Quad Cor with 4GB ram. This is able to run flexi no problem. With smooth edges. Also is able to rip a lot better.

I would either upgrade your PC or take of the smooth edges off.

Flexi really needs a fast PC although they dont say it on the box.

    Thanks DaneRead,
Turning off the smooth edges has helped and I’m coping with the 2gb ram, although it is slow (especially when ripping).
