I use Coreldraw 12 to do the designs, then convert to curves then export to ARTCUT 2005 with not many problems when it comes to plain text etc. But when I try cut a shadow for the text, the shadow is always out of sync.

For example, draw a box shape and copy/paste 3 in a row, then in Corel using the contour feature draw an inner box, break them apart and move 1 set away. So now I have 6 boxes, 3 large and 3 small in 2 rows.

Now export as eps file, export as curves no poblem. Then open Artcut import said file, and it still looks ok.

Here I have to ungroup all items, then regroup 3 large squares (set A) and again regroup the 3 small squares (set B).

I cut set A out of one colour, then set B out of another. When I over lay set B on set A they dont match up. ie the inner squares do not fit in the centre of the outer square, as they should on the screen.

I have had similair problem with some text I put in a box outline, three times I cut it and each time it was out of position in a different way.

Sorry to go on so much but here’s more.

Also in Corel type a line of text, then convert to curves all the text seems to go out of sync slightly, say the letter S will get a little longer so all the the letters are different lengths.

I have had to cut each piece and lay them seperately so far, but I would like to do proper shadow type effects in the future. Which at this point is impossible to do correctly so any help would be great.

    Cheers Norm

Regarding export of text – rather than converting to curves and then export – export text while still text on your page and do the conversion in the dialogue box ie text to curves.

    hello

you say another pcut problem, but your problem is the dealer you supplied you and not giving support or the software, the cutter is very basic, and easy to use,
try exporting as a plt file, the art cut eps and ai filters can play up, if you cant export as a plt try grouping or ungrouping.
artcut has its problems as do many other software, but you have to think of the price tag on it as well.

Thanks Alan (F), your quite right this is the down side of buying cheap via ebay, no support. I will try what you said and hopefully it will work.

Also Alan (D) I think I tried that once with out success, but I will have another go.

    Thanks again

    Cheers Norm
