can anyone help with a cadet printer cutting problem?
I’m having a problem with the cutter on my Cadet.
Some of the cut paths are incomplete which causes problems when weeding. This seems to be wherever there is a 90 degree direction change in the cut path such as when cutting a rectangle (one of the corners is incomplete).
I first noticed this some time ago when cutting a thicker vinyl consisting of a print and laminate that needed to be contour cut after laminating. Ordinary print vinyl was unaffected at this time but now even it is exhibiting the same problem. I’ve checked that the blade is turning freely in the holder and I am left wondering if this is a sign that the blade is worn and needs to be replaced?
Any advice?

No I haven’t had any time lately to work on it. Recently I have been very busy at work, then I hurt my back just before we went off on holiday for one week – then since we got back Alison’s kept me busy in the garden. I’m looking forward to winter time when I can get back to working on it at the weekends 😮
..Any idea what’s wrong with my cadet?

yea change the blade you probably have done that since you had it.
plus has the cadet more than 2 pinch rollers if it has use then for heavy cuttingchris

I had a problem recently with my Grenadier not cutting too well but there was nothing obviously wrong, and a new blade made no difference. The cutting strip did not look too good so I replaced that, still no improvement.
The answer was to remove the blade and apply a little embrocation (WD40) up the middle of the blade holder.Frank

Had a similar problem with ours… A new blade holder cured it

I’ve tried a squirt of wd40 in the blade holder which has improved things.

Just a small hint,…………WD40 will atract more dust in the blade holder, you could try Dry PTFE instead, should last a lifetime.
