To the best of my knowledge, Signlab 5 isn’t compatible with XP…and Signlab 6 and above isn’t compatible with anything less than XP (’95, ’96, ME).
I THINK I’m right in saying that this is covered on the Cadlink site.
(I know Brian Little was wanting to upgrade his PC…but feared the incompatibility with his V5.)
You could (I suppose) put your OLD operating system on the new PC as a ‘dual boot’ – it will then be V5 compatible when the old version is chosen at boot up….or spend a chunk of money upgrading Signlab.
Shame there’s not a patch to get round this.

Dave,
I run Signlab 5 revv 6.3 and windows XP.
I did have some issues but cadlink sorted them out over a remote link which i wrote about on the cadlink forum. -
There are lots of older software packages that are incompatible with Windows XP, however a large number of these can be made to run using compatibility mode within windows.
see here

Another option would be dual boot, but this means rebooting the machine just to use a different software package.
you could always install your old operating system on your new pc, providing you have the appropriate license of course.
Another option would be to run your old operating system and software in a virtual machine on your new system, however this can be quite complicated to setup and configure.
hope this helps

I’d try the Cadlink site and download the hasp4 driver
Of course was downloaded you will need to install -
The cadlink site says that SL5 will run under XP but you need to have the latest dongle drivers, you can get them from Cadlink site.
Nick.

Wasn’t there also an issue with installing SP2 and conflicts?

That was Signlab 6 Lorraine, you used to get dozens of letters every time you typed a letter 😮

I run Signlab 5.6 on XP and have done for yonks. There are a couple of minor issues but no showstoppers.
