  • can anyone help please with ideas on colours?

Posted by Hugh Potter on January 20, 2006 at 1:31 am

wey hey ! first time using this section ! desperation, tiredeness, and a huge lack of nicotine this week has caused a near mind melt tonight,

this is about the fourth lot of art i’ve done in prep for next week, everything else was easy, but here ! customer designed the new replacement a board facias (vinyl fitted to corex), his daughter does this everu few months r so,

anyways, design ok, i had to redraw / vectorise a picture of some belgian chocolates, no problem there, but now i have come to the bit where i need three browns (dark reds or burnt orange may also help) to make them,

my main prob is that each range might only have one or two browns, but they dont go together very well, can anyone suggest some colours please ???

i want to stick with one redish brown as the border around the edge wil be the same colour to save ordering 4 similar colours.,

    any help appreciated, thanks. Hugh

I agree on the Mactac browns, good chocolatey colours there. Avery also have a few good browns, 880 Brown, 818 Chocolate Brown and 882 Chestnut Brown.
Or if you’re feeling flush 3M have numerous shades of brown.

Let us see the finished sign when it’s done!

    thank you Marcella and Ian,

i’m fine Marcella, marcy ? 😀 not been on a whole lot lately as A… xmas was dead for me ! and B, been spending too much time either fishing or workin on the race car, all changing now as i’ve got about 6 jobs to do in this next week, just taken off all of a sudden,

anyways, re the colours, i’ll have to have a look through them later, gonna be some pricy chocs as i gotta order three lots of 5m just for them !!

they were an odd thing to draw, not particularly difficult, took maybe an hour, but just seemed an endless mission of moving nodes and bending lines !! got there ok i think though.

off to school now for a lad assembly thing !
