  • can anyone help me with fine detail cutting please?

    Hi guys

We have a new Graphtec CE500 and we’re just starting to use it more

Just a small problem when weeding fine detail cutting. It seems there are slight threads still attaching to some fine detail areas particularly where the cutting direction changes through an acute angle.

The upshot of this is that when weeding we have to be careful not to weed some of the fine detail.

Is there a setting on the Graphtec we could adjust?

    Hope you understand 🙂

    Hi,

a couple of things to try/ check,

check your tool 🙂 is set to CB09 if you are using the blue top holder

    set the quality to 1

make sure you don’t have too much blade

unscrew the blue part of the blade holder and apply a small amount of grease or light oil to the bearings in the end (not wd40)

keep the speed down to 20-30

ensure the cutting strip is in good order should be if its new

too much force can also effect the quality

    cheers

    Thanks for the post Jeffus.

I’m not going to do anymore tonight but will make sure the settings are correct in the morning.

    Cheers from Bridgend 🙂

    Why not WD40?

Ian wd40 is not a good lubricant, and does more harm than good to small bearings, it washes out any viscous oil or grease, and dries up itself within a short space of time. leaving the bearing dry.

Ours was set to 15U. Just changed it to 09 and it seemed to be fine 😳
