can anyone help me with exporting cut lines for versaworks?
Posted by John Wilson on January 24, 2008 at 11:26 pmI’ve got a .cdl that I can use in signlab for cutting but I’d like to use it for print and cut……… is there any way to import it into versaworks so that I can use it for cut and print?
Cheers

export it as an EPS file, will then open in Versaworks. If its worked you will see the red marching ants around the cut line in Versaworks. Ensure you have the EPS margin in VW set,Kev

it just puts a cut line box round the whole image and not the actual cut lines from signlab, is there maybe something that I need to do in signlab first?

Make it the colour Versaworks need it to be or make it a pdf

Within Coreldraw you need to assign a colour that you have named as cutcontour this will then be recognised as a cut line within Versaworks I would think the process would be the same within Signlab

MartYeah I’ve got it set up in coreldraw but i can’t get it to work with this image, it just creates a outline round everything and misses out the insides of letters and things like that

Not sure what version of SignLab you’re using. However, for relatively recent SignLab you can:
- Go Options menu >> SignLab Setup >> PostScript Setup.
- This will allow you to name the cut paths that you’re exporting to your EPS file.
- For the proper name, check user manual for the given RIP.
