can anyone help me crop this picture?
Posted by Adrian Neill on February 6, 2009 at 9:24 amGood morning everyone !! It’s me asking for help again !!
I’ve got this photo and I need to crop it. I know how to crop it as a square
or rectangle, but I need to crop it as a circle. I’ve attached the picture
and roughly where I need to crop it.I’m using Corel X3 if that makes any difference ??
Cheers. 😀

Can you not powerclip it instead??Draw your shape you want it to then select the photo then Effects, Powerclip then place inside container. You can then right click the container and edit or move it to the correct position the right click again to finish editing at this level.

same process as discussed a few days ago in this thread

your circle is your path to clip in to.
cheers

one way to do it, prob not the quickest but…
select the shape tool,
move the corner nodes so the edges of the photo fit the edges into the circle,
convert edges to curves and bend to fit the circle, remove circle, job jobbed.ok, there’s possibly a proper way to do it, but that’s how i do it, only takes a minute or two, you can make the photo any shape you choose to (within the original confines of the photo edge).
did a quick video (which i’ll leave up for a day or two) to show what i mean

Power clip is the best way, you would then have the option to put an outline or shadow to the power clip shape. You can set Draw to either clip the bitmap where the power clip shape is positioned or auto centre the bitmap to the power clip shape.

Its just over half way down in the ‘effects’ tab.
Don’t think there is a shortcut. 😀

One way we have found that works well
draw yer circle, position it over the bit you want
select both bitsgo to arrange shaping intersect
then you can select the bit you want plus the original picture is there untouched and the cut shape so you could intersect another image
hope this helps

wow … thanks for the respones !!
I did actually manage it earlier just after i’d posted, but it was a long-winded
way of getting to the end result !!Just tried the ‘powerclip’ way and it was soooo easy.
Once again, many thanks for your help. 🙂 -
ah, thanks guys!!
power clips seems fine on most pics but on one or two it didn’t ‘contain’ all / the right area i wanted!!
