as far as i know metamark dont do a colour change vinyl
the md7 only comes in clear or white, and is a a digiprint material, so will need laminating for best results

    Hi!

Peter the range is M7, NOT MD7! Md7 is a printing vinyl I believe, M7 is their 7yr range.

Now, wrapping a connect in it…

There pretty flat so shouldn’t have too many issues except…

The roof has very deep grooves in it, even for wrapping material it won’t stay in and as such, has to fitted in ‘strips’.

Biggest no-no area as its visible is the rear pillars where the sides meet the back door. Quite a curve and even with wrap vinyl, takes a fair bit of heat to get it round.

In my opinion, M7 will fail within days.

Yeah I know, the 7 series is still a poymeric though, so as you say will probably fail,
that’s why I said metamark do not do a colour change material.
and wondered if the specification was wrong.
its a bit confusing as its not referred to as M7 but 7 series

I know what you mean Peter.

When ordering the codes are M7-012 etc… hence the ‘M7’.

Still wouldn’t wrap a connect door with it let alone the rear (numberplate recess)….!!!

thanks for the replies, thats what i was thinking, but a large sign company had specified the material, i did show my concern with the customer, but they were happy to go with what they were told (part of a franchise).. i managed to do the van, mainly in large panels, hiding the joins in certain places, looks neat enough to me, but the roof was a right pain in the arse and i had to cut the rear panels instead of heating into the recess, also ended up cutting the channels out 😕 looks neat enough though 🙂 il post some pictures tomorrow…

Apprently, M7 is classed by Metamark as a colour change vinyl? Mediafleet did all the EoN vans with it.

all recesses are cut and shut on eion that all they do, the material is not suitable for any recesses, good luck

Talk to Mark, he’s the SE sales manager for Metamark and regularly uses this forum, he will tell you exactly what M7 is good at and exactly what it’s not good at too.

I have always found his advice honest and not orientated to selling his own material, he’s been in the trade for 15 years. I will PM you his number tomorrow when I get in the office
