quote Colin Hibbitt:We use banner bond and eyelet are own banners for the past 4 yrs – had no come back at all
which double sided banner bond do you use Colin?
-
use grafitype tape around £6 a roll think its called easy hem – huge should know more
as for ropes – don`t use any
if i did i would still use the tape and eyelet the seam every 2ft -
We stitch and eyelet our own, its not hard or expencive to do

won’t tell a soul Ian 😀 thanks for that may think about that, at the moment we double side tape and eyelet them but some times sewing could be an option.

I like the look of stitching, looks stronger even if it isn’t. we did 75 in 10 hours 2 weeks ago., half a bobbin of thread at 4 pound a bobbin, not bad going

is it special cotton? sewing thread you use ?

George I do but shipping to my supplier might cost you a bit 😛

Sorry this is such a late response – but to answer Lynn’s question about sewing thread for banners we use nylon thread -polyester thread is also superior to cotton because it won’t dry rot. The U.S. designation for this thread is #69 nylon – it’s inexpensive- about 15 dollars U.S. for one pound (which is about 6,000 yards.)
To answer someone else’s question about securing ropes in banners – it’s easy when you sew because you stitch into the rope at the end of banner which is easy and this fixes the rope. If you are using tape you can attach a pig ring at each open end of the banner (not sure what the UK term for this is – it looks like a large staple that is crimped onto the rope where it comes out of the banner – when you have one on each end of a banner it keeps the rope from sliding out. Hope that made sense. -
jeez did you see on that site, they sell 860mm wide artcut cutters with software for £299!!!!!

That’s got to be the worst website I have ever come across – probably a cheap Chinese import… 😕
