  • can anyone advise with media width on a VS-540

Posted by Blaga Mladen on July 10, 2012 at 5:22 am

    Hello,

We are having problems with getting the right media width on our VS-540. From the first day, printer is not able to recognize full width (54") and the biggest width it showed is 52.5" (in this case, initialization was made without media clamps and with pinch rollers right on the edge of the media).

Is there any way of calibration of accuracy of the printhead ?

    Thank You in advance,
    Mladen

    Hi Stafford,
    Thanks for quick reply.

I have just checked in RIP, the EPS margin is set on 0.00 mm (default setting).

The maximum printing width is 53".

The maximum media width is 54".

have not know any of the Roland machines, not even the UV printers print edge to edge. In fact why would you want to print edge to edge as the media invariably gets dings on the edges. Also, you would need your laminate to be perfect along the edge. I have never had the need to pall 54" on may machine. For wide drops, I normally run between 48" and 52" max.

Full spec of machine can be found here:
