here’s a design i did for an opal nera black sambuca on a black cab , hope you like. I have actually painted it but haven’t got the photos yet, I’m pretty slack at that kinda stuff.
I welcome any advice from the experts please.

OK, so I’ve been trawling old posts! 😀
But as no-one answered; my understanding from working at a London Taxi Advertising company is that many councils (and especially the PCO in London) won’t allow the windows on black cabs to be covered with vinyl.

…and when I wake up I’ll realise that this vehicle is more than likely not going to be in the UK. 😉 I’ll get my coat!

How did this one get missed the first time around? Any pictures of the finished cab yet?
    I like the design.

do you mean only sides cant be covered or any?
i dont recall seing any side windows ever covered but as you will know the rear is a common one to be done with controvision and the like?

I think just the side windows are a no-no anywhere if I recall. The PCO also don’t allow contravision on the rear windows in London. – I think it’s a safety thing. The provincials generally get away with it.

is it now stopped on the rear due to the water pocketing in the holes during the rain making visability impossible?

Not ENTIRELY sure. I think it’s generally due to councils being involved. -They come from the same schooling as Council Planning Officers, I think! 😉 I don’t think it’s a print issue. It’s more like ‘the passanger has impared vision when exiting the taxi’ or the cab must be SEEN INTO from the outside incase of attack? -Not unknown in and around London.

I could probably find out the specifics if anyone’s THAT interested.

our cabs here in Oz use contravision for the back window advertising. It is unlaminated, so i’m not sure how they see out in the wet weather.

    Good design tho.
