I have recently got into the sign business. I am having trouble with doing fine cuts on my mimaki. For some reason I can’t do small lettering at all, I have tried everything I could think of. I bought 3 different types of blades. They are 30 degree, 56 degree, and fine cut blades for the mimaki. I have tried all three of them in high speed, medium speed, and low speed. If anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate it a lot. I have been having troubles with this sense I got this.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

What do you class as small lettering?

On past experience (not on this cutter) you can probably get a 10mm Cap Height depending on material used.

If using a vinyl with a laminate the lettering is going to be more difficult to cut.

If the vinyl is churning up with a new blade I would suspect the pressure is to great.

the letters are about 1/4 inch tall or so. maybe alittle bit smaller or a bit bigger. This is real small letter I think. Or is it. Do I have the right blade for this type of cut. or do I need a different blade. I am trying to cut into oracal, 3m material some have laminate on it and some do not.

Thanks for your help Dave a Stuart
