    Hi Guys

A bloke in my street heard I was starting up van graphics and said he’d like his van done when i get myself sorted. I haven’t got any outlines yet so i went out and took a pic or two to see what I could come up with.

Trouble is theres not a lot to work on, theres on the doors and the bonnet but thats got a dirty big grille in the middle of it lol.

I did a design on the drivers door but when you flip over to work on the other door the design didnt fit, why couldnt I get a nice rectangle to work with ha ha.

This isnt the final working draft yet, just a mock up with illustrator.

I can’t get anything to fit on the bonnet that looks nice and lined up, any ideas?

Heres what I came up with,

    Phil

    Hi Phil.
    I would break it up a bit…..
CP & 24 as you have it,
RECOVERY in white with a thicker black outline,
and the phone # in black with NO outline.
On the hood (bonnet) you could have
CP on one side of the louvers (?) and 24 on the other,
with RECOVERY stretched out under the louvers.
Colors as above, no need for a phone # on the front.
    Just my 2 cents.
    Love….Jill

Thanks Jill I will see what it looks like and give him the option of the two.

I assume oracal 751 will let me overlay white onto black ok.

Phil, I’ve only used 651 and 851, but they overlay fine.
Also forgot to say that the phone number needs to be a wee bit smaller.

751 overlays fine Phil, I use it as my main vinyl for, well, almost everything. 😀

Hope you don’t mind me playing around a little with your design, just that I’m a nocturnal bugger with a buzzing head 😮

    Cheers, Dewi

Nice Guys thanks, bit late tho lol, plus i’m trying to keep things simple for my first job lol.

I showed him the above with Jills recommendation of the white recovery and he was quite happy with it.

Now all i have to do is design it in Illustrator in a format that the plotter will cut (plotter and vinyl arrive tomorrow).

    once again thanks all

Well I applied my first vinyl on friday, just did the doors.

The bottom of the doors where i plan to apply the 24 hour part has that textured anti chip paint , will it be ok to apply the vinyl on top of that?

And if so does it need special application method?

that looks fine to me, the anti chip texture should be no problem, just make sure its nice and clean before application
