    Hi Guys and girls!

come into work this morning and my trainee has buggered my coreldraw8!!

Basically the standard toolbar on the left hand side of the screen has been replaced by: object select/rotate/zoom/slide/and camera walk.

He has no idea what he has done and i cannot seem to restore the standard settings, even when i re install?

    any ideas?

    thanks in advance

    Ryan 😀

Not a direct answer I know but by right clicking over the offending toolbar, brings you up a whole list of options.

You might need to play with them for a bit cos they are not always obvious

normally there would be an option of pick, zoom, rectangle, elipse, text etc etc on the far left of the screen.

now there is none at all so i cant right click on anything!

going to kill the little brat 😀 always happens when you have a ton of work to do as well!

    any other suggestions?

    hi…
    there is a “reset all”..
when starting Corel, you hold down one of the F keys… Could be F9 and it resets everything.

im afraid not, just brings the different options (shortcuts) up. even if you use the Ctrl or alt keys.

This is the help for v12, may be similar in 8?

Move a toolbar – Click the toolbar’s grab area, and drag the toolbar to a new position.

Dock a toolbar – Click the toolbar’s grab area, and drag the toolbar to any edge of the application window.

Undock a toolbar – Click the toolbar’s grab area, and drag the toolbar away from the edge of the application window.

Resize a floating toolbar – Point to the edge of the toolbar and, using the two-directional arrow, drag the edge of the toolbar.

Hide or display a toolbar – Click Tools } Customization, click Command bars, and disable or enable the check box next to the toolbar name.

Reset a toolbar to its default setting – Click Tools } Customization, click Command bars, click a toolbar, and click Reset.

If Corel 8 is the same as 12 – you should be able to right click on any of the grey areas outside of the drawing page & select toolbox from the drop down menu

    I think 😮

It wasn’t really the trainee was it? :lol1:

resetting the toolbars to standard settings will restore the bar at the top of the page but not the vertical selection.

if i look in the toolbax section, they are all there but seems to be no means of restoring them.
if i click on the individual items it simply provides a selection of settings.

strange.. Holding the F8 while starting Corel 10,11 & 12 works ok. I guess it was a new feature in 10+.

I had something like this happen the other day where my tool box became inverted so the pick tool, insted of being at the top was at the bottom.

I used system restore and went back in time a couple of days and all was well again in the world

Too late I know but just a thought

When strange things happen in Draw first port of call is F8 on programme launch to go to default workspace. If you have a customised workspace save this first and you can always import it back after F8.
