Has anyone on the forum ever wrapped a Jet Ski before, and if so did you encounter as many problems as I have 🙂 Doing the proverbial NO NO and helping a friends son with his tattered Jet ski (in MATT Black I might add) The main body went on fine but the "front" where the fish grooves are situated is causing me all manner of headaches – Anyone with some advice would be gratefully accepted 🙂

    Maybe a picture would help.

What vinyl are you using for the wrap. I don’t do wrapping myself, but have done graphics for Jet Ski’s and all have been done using hi bond vinyls and laminates.

Using Avery 900 Matt Black, no pics available but the fish gills are proving to be the hardest part – wishing I hadnt started it now 🙂

    Hi Andy

Personally I wouldn’t wrap a jet ski for general use. For a show maybe, but vinyl isn’t made to substitute paint!

It will look nice for a few hours until the waves break…

Your wrapping the whole thing? got any pics. I thought about doing a full wrap but couldn’t decide if I was going to do the foot wells etc.

Here is my latest graphics on my personal ski.

If your going to do it in pieces I’d personally make templates for all the pieces and have them overlap. Cut them in the plotter and hopefully when they overlap it all looks nice and neat.

Finally – sry for the delay people – In the end I admitted defeat as the
SEADOO face with fillets in the gills just didnt look right. The outcome was we were out of pocket on vinyl but picked up two new customers because of our efforts. We had informed the customer that it would probably be better spraying but we would attempt what he desired. Sometimes its better to admit defeat and show that we are after all
    "Only Human" 🙂

It’s the same with motorbikes, you really need to charge a lot of money to make them worthwhile doing as it’s so labour intensive.
