A few weeks ago I had a serious head strike on my HP335 latex caused by vinyl wrinkling. It destroyed one of the black cyan heads, and it wouldnt fire at all.

    No problem, I renewed it.

A week ago the other Black Cyan head got blocked. No problem, it had about 3000 ml through it, so that was to be expected.

Then last week the first black cyan head blocked up.

Ok, methinks this is a new head, and must still be under warranty. The supplier was happy to credit the cost, on condition I return the other one.
However, before I took it out I read the info on the head.

It showed 2,500 ml had already been used!

This is clearly impossible, as I had had it in for about 6 weeks, and even a heavy user would expect it to still be well under the warranty amount (1000ml I believe)

Once the supplier checks this they wont want to credit me (of course.)

So. Can these heads read incorrectly? It was certainly a new head when I put it in, it came from a sealed packet with the plug and the head cap.

I dont understand. Has anybody else experienced mis reading heads?

    Thanks.
    Simon.

Not an issue I’ve noticed on my 360 Simon, in fact, my now 2.5yr old machine is still on it’s original set of heads and printing prefectly. I bought a full set when I had issues a couple of months back and was shocked to realise I hadn’t replaced any but, following a head clean and re-ripping the print, it’s been great! A couple of the heads are over 4000ml!

That’s no help to you of course!

Not seen that before – you can go into the system via web browsers and check in more details, making sure the install date & serial numbers match.

Interesting you say Cyan / Black head, we’ve had one fail at 50ml, one dead-on-install last week, cyan channel just ‘stopped’.

Oh and my record on the 360 was 9980ml used before it required changing!

thats some volume through a head!!

FYI, I thought that the heads were K/Y, LC/C, LM/M ? is the 335 different in that it has a C/K head?
