I’m not sure I know what you mean, Nik. Do you mean a lightbox set into a recess in a pillar?
-
Well then, yes. Simple enough. I’ve done this before. You just need to find a lightbox that will enable you to insert the panel from the front, as the sides will presumably be hidden in the recess. I did this by using a section where the beading fitted into a slot so no screws were needed in the sides. Mind you, it was only a small sign. Then of course, you’ve got to get a wire in there………..

Can you post any kind of picture? There are several ways you can do this, but can depend on the design etc…..
If you do, can you put as much info on it as poss

Ashby have a new machine that is primarily design to fabricate letters from aluminium and then the make up a snap fit fascia for the letters. This machine would work for your case, give them the dimensions of the recess and they then make a letter to fit, you take your power out the back along with fixings, put in your neon leds and then fit front fascia. They can do it in all sorts of colours and supply the best leds we have used

thanks for another lead adrian, but what puts me off that particular company is the attitude of the staff on the other end of the phone 🙄
ed and me have phoned a few times for stuff…but their attitude is just…. ‘i cannot be bothered’ 😮nik

Not being funny NIk, they make a lot of different good products, from full blown road signs to smart little aluminium spacers, have been using them for about 3 years and do between £3-4K per month with them, they are good, they have the odd dodgy emplyee but for the products they are worth working with

i totally agree adrian….they are a brilliant company, but it was just the guys on the phone…when it happens just the once fine ‘dodgy employee’ but several times…. 🙄 thats the only reason why i have never phoned them back…. 😀

Try them again Nik – They’re a pretty good company I would say

Hi Nik
I had some road signs from them a few weeks ago. I must agree that some of the staff on the phone were absolute rubbish.
I used their website and sent an enquiry by email. They came straight back to me in the morning with a quote. Their prices are really good. It’s well worth another try.
Cheers,
Cheryl

We use Ashby products a lot. Looking forward to seeing this illuminated lump of rock!? Is it close to electrical point?

😛 i know it is customer, but Solar panel’s could be hidden on top etc. and then use a combination of magical lo-power LED’s design to create something nice and appealing..
