This is a bit of an emergency.

Whats the minimum time I can allow a print to dry before app taping it? Will 6 hours be sufficient so the app tape does pull the print up?

    Cheers

    Dunno Jase.

We leave prints for at least 24 hours before laminating but, with paper app tape, which can breathe, I suppose the print can continue outgas quite happily.

Low or high tack tape? I suppose the thing is that you need the grip between ink and vinyl to be greater that between app tape and ink for it to work.

    Cheers John,

    Its low tack tape.

Were going to leave it for 8 hours and I’ve printed some extra to app tape and do a test run to see if the ink is staying down.

Will post my results later for future reference. I know this isn’t the ideal situation we usually leave prints for 24 hours but the client made an error and we have to fix it as they are opening tomorrow.

    Cheers
    Jason

We let it go for 8 hours. It was fine.
