now i know its unprofessional to bad mouth other companies so im going to hold back from what i would like to say and just b&p charged me £40 a sqm for some static cling!!! now its not like they dont know me as i have done various jobs for them and they keep asking me to buy one of their printers (no chance mate heard about your customer service!) so i was well supprised when the bill came considering the only charge me £30 sqm for their wrap vinyl laminated (well they call it wrap vinyl). so i would just like to say come on guys i know times are hard but i will come out at the end with my head held high knowing i didnt have to screw anybody to get through it!

    Object lesson in:

GET A PRICE BEFORE YOU ORDER IT.

I’ve no opinion on B&P personally – but it’s NOT their fault that you feel you’ve paid too much.

normally they email me with the cost first, this time the stuff just arrived on my door step, i never even gave them the go ahead but as i used them before i stupidly passed the graphics on to my customer thinking everything would be ok till i got the bill, i have argued with them about it and they refuse to budge, im just sorry i have helped them out in the past, i think i know what its about, i am mates with somebody they sacked recently but im not sure why they have the hump with me but balls (politest way i can put it) to them they have lost out on a printer sale now as i have ordered mine from elsewhere.

    Luca,
if you didn’t even give them the go ahead, did you not question why they did?
this sounds like a bit of sour grapes to me rather than a genuine complaint.
Like Dave I have no comments for or against B&P as I have no experience of them, and looking at this from a totally unbiased point of view

Just send it back and go elsewhere. Its down to them to prove you gave the go ahead.

£30 a square metre of wrap vinyl printed and laminated is a very good price in my opinion. i have never bought or used static cling so cannot comment on the price. but how many metres of printed static cling did you buy/order?

all the above aside, i did receive a letter from them last week i think saying that due to blah blah blah prices have increased by 5-10% i think… but thts happening everywhere as we all know.

i am not backing b&p by any means… just your initial post etc doesn’t come over 100% clear.

B&P are B&P Lightbrigade Group a large company that sells new and second user printers and media, rebadged as Uniform, alot of people myself included bought Rolands that had been modded to take full solvent Activasol ink and rebranded Uniform Grenadier etc from B&P.

They are like most big companys you can find people who think they are great and people who think they are bad, last week i had an order for 50 banners this needed more than just 1 roll of vinyl and half way through job they changed banner supplier without telling me causing me a headache. However in there defence they did run around to help me once i got on the phone to them.

They may be expensive on there static cling but last week they sent me an email offering flush carts at just £20.00 each a big saving on the normal £45.00 especialy when you consider the my printer takes 12 carts !

In my experience a good company who have helped me a lot

    Regards

    Russell.

just on a side note russell…
Printone offer flush cartridges for £10 each mate… at least they did the last time i used some. while back now… also check you are giving you the correct flush for your ink…
i do not flush my machine, infact in nearly 5 years i have only done it once.
we only take a few days off at christmas and new year so the days we are off i just pop in after 2 or 3 days and run a metre or two of a photo/picture to keep the ink moving. we also do a manual clean and leave the heads soaking. the whole thing only takes 10 minutes and costs you virtually nothing. when you get back after the holidays your machines ready to go!

    Hi Rob,

Same here I have never flushed my machine and am in between xmas and new year so will not be flushing now, I used the flush cartridge price as an example of something from B&P that i considered to be good pricing as the original thread seemed to be leaning towards B&P overcharging and i hoped this would give a more balanced picture overall of B&P.

    Regards

    Russell.
