Buying a personalised number plate
Posted by David McDonald on August 23, 2010 at 4:59 pmHi All
I’ve always fancied having a personalised number plate (although I know they can be a bit naff), so bid and won "M5 SIGNS" (M551 GNS) on fleebay the other day with a very optimistic dream that I’ll stick it on the BMW M5 I’ll own one day (some time off).
Very happy with the price I paid and was going to stick it on the van (for now), but have been rumbled by my good lady who has decided she’s having it on her Mazda 5 instead as that’s also an M5! Oh well I nearly had it (wait til I tell her its an early birthday prezzie).
Cheers

I managed to bag R15GNS and R1SGN (Right Signs) a few years ago. These numbers are meaningless to anyone else but are a good match for our business name.

I have 80BSY, as I’m often refered to as BOBSY. It’s on retention at the minute, I never transfered it when I last changed my car. Really should get that sorted, another thing for the "to do list." I nearly bought OGA5M some time ago, but you have to be a little careful. You can easily look more of a tosser than anything else, if you have the wrong combination of flashy car and private plate. Couldn’t really word that any other way, bet we’ve all looked at someone who thought they were cool and and said it under our breath though. 😀
Hope you can make out the numberplate past my buggy, its the only picture I could find. Poor old Dad.. I store so much stuff at his house!
