• Business leads

    Hello,

I have been contacted today by a company offering to send me business leads of new start ups etc in my area.

Has any one used this type of service before and if so is it any good.

    Thanks

    Ian

Been offered it many times in the past.

Usually in conjunction with a phone directory company.

The usual spiel – "there were 300 new businesses in your area last year, and over 150 moved premises – we can exclusively give you all of the leads if you sign up today for £400 – that’s under a £1 a lead."

If this was REALLY so, why do they have such trouble selling the deal – surely the bigger sign companies would have it sewn up every year and everybody else would be out of business.

Get a lot of the web ranking deals too – just laugh at them.

I’d steer clear of it. Sounds like a sort of third-party cold call.
Probably more bother than it’s worth.

I would think that by the time that the company selling this info gets to know about the new start ups and premises moved to, they have probably already organised their new signage, better off dropping flyers through empty unit letter boxes.

I’ve had the same calls too and actually made a post a while ago about it (I think) but Steve is 100% correct, the list is new businesses that have already started up or have already moved, at this stage it’s too late for us 😕
