    Hi Folks.

Where we are based at the moment, like everyone else the room soon gets used up and we are bursting out all over the place….. abit like my blouses LOL

So we have bought another larger unit.

We have a few options on what to do…

    1. Move everything to the new unit. This unit is 10 miles away from the old one. Moving I feel might lose some customers.

    2. Have 2 shops ( carry on working from the old unit, and open the new place up doing the same) The reason being its on the other side of the city, so in theory it could bring in new customers. The old shop could just be a shop front carrying no equipment.

We all live together so goods can be swapped over at home. We could do it without employing someone else. 2 at 1 shop and 1 at the other.

    what are your thoughts please

    Sounds exciting Denise!

Initial thoughts are option 2, perhaps have the (eg) cutting at the old place, and the PC’s networked so jobs from either place can be mailed and done at the location with the set-up for that job?

Best of both worlds, sounds like to me, anyway.

large note on the shop saying youve moved lock stock and barrell – less overheads and everything in one place 10 miles is no distance those that want you will find you those you loose will probably the ones that dont concern you plus you will pick up new business in the new location 😀

    Hi Denise,

We were in a similar situation not long ago.

I operated from a small shop with office space above where the studio was. I decided to move into a larger unit, and the studio moved into the shop space.

April ’13 we closed the shop. and everything was moved into the unit I moved into (and we’re now looking to move again). We’re probably 5-8miles from the old shop.

We get more/better work than we did in the shop, and some customers still come to us despite us moving.

The important question is whether you can afford both premises? I would run both at least for another 6-12 months, and then make a decision from there.

I’m happy in my shed, I guess the older I get the more content I become and the less hastle I want!!
