    Hi

    https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … 238#241238

this link is of a customers logo, He wants built up letters, stainless, and a perspex face, with internal illumination in letters. He has a really raw metal type finish to his shop, and wants the rough raw metal feel to sign. any ideas. and also where is best place to get these letters made. as i have contacted companies, and they say they cant cut the serif. I gues its all too thin on the edges etc. I have tried to "bulk" up the letters slightly to help

    many thanks

    matt

It would probably have to be laser cut.

Never mind the letters, I would have the customers EYES lasered What a hideous font.
Fabricut also do them and seem to be very reasonable.

I have to agree with Steve that font is nasty !

How big are the proposed letters going to be. I don’t think fabricating these letters will be the problem, I think the problem is that these letters are narrow and by the time you add the return on the face which holds the acrylic you won’t have much acrylic showing and when its illuminated it’ll look odd.
That is unless the letters are massive !

    hope that makes sense.

guys, managed to talk him out of the font, and to built up letters in a different font, but then he changed his mind again and has gone back to his font again, hes desperate to keep it, and now we are going for a 4 m long sign tray with all cut vinyls instead. I think it will look a lot nicer.
    cheers

I cant read what that even says, if I look really hard it looks like Dalek
Not sure what possible reason he could have for using that font but that font should join Steve Mclaren in the tower of London to be
    executed at dawn.

If I saw a business with a font like that, unless I was specifically looking for him, I would just go straight to the next ad in the yellow pages in his section.
Business names need to be clear, concise, and easy to read, all of the traits his doesn’t have.

If he still insists, do a black vinyl on a black background to save him embarrassing himself any further. :lol1:

its a very successful and funky hair salon, very busy. dont think they need passing trade etc, he just wants a very funky different sign. i will post up the photos as soon as its done.

he is opening a second salon round the corner called "arc" so something more conservative there maybe.

It might just be the black on white font I saw posted, in vinyl or built up it may improve a bit.
Lucky he didn’t have it in metal it could have had someones eye out 😛
