I’ve decided that over the next few weeks I’m going to sort my workshop out, this includes, making a new workbench! I found a thread on here from a while ago with some great Ideas and have decided to make a portable workbench on wheels with brakes. My question is though where could I purchase 8 soft rubber wheels/casters with brakes? They need to be able to take a fair amount of weight and be stable. Has anyone got any pictures of workbenches they have made or other ideas for making one?

    cheers

    James 😀

We got our large casters/wheel things from the local Fastenings/Tool/Hire place … most DIY’s etc or tool places will sell them. We have two 10′ x 5′ benches made up with wheels on so we can move them around. Will try & post pic if I can get Steve to take some snaps.

these seem to be the best option http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro … 2&ts=01667 Do you think 8 will be ok on a 9′ x 4′ bench?

Also what is the best material used for covering the top of the bench?
