Budding Photographers
Posted by John Gregson on June 14, 2007 at 11:29 amHi All,
Just to let you all know, if anybodys interested, that there’s a photography competition run by Currys on at the moment. Prizes are good ranging from a holiday down to compact cameras. There’s a few different categories and there seems to be no rules on image minipulation, excellent for all you photoshop users.Go on give it a go – don’t forget to check my works of art out, or holiday snaps as I call them. Any constructive criticism welcome but please be gentle with the comments as I know were you all live. 😉
Cheers John

You’ve got me shaking in my boots now John 😀
Where exactly are your pics 😕
Mr Andrew Boyle is the Man, takes awsome pics, just look at my aviator (cheesy) signed copies are still available 😀
Good website Shane.

Hi Martin,
If you go to the curry’s comp homepage there’s two searchs, one if you know the name of pic, the other if you know the persons name.
Type my name in and it should come up with my snaps. The voting and comments system are just for fun and have no bearing on the judges final decisions.I’ll check out that site Shane, cheers John.

Thanks Marcella 😳 I tend to get carried away with Photoshop sometimes.
If you look through the site, or even just the top 40, there are some pretty amazing shots, most of them taken with a standard digital compact. There’s also some talented photoshop users on the site.
Cheers John

John, you old dark horse.
There’s me thinking you stood there with that squeegee all day when your out taking photos like that.Super stuff
 -
I’m actually using that squeegee at the moment, not to type with, that would be stupid. I’ve got a 2500 run to do inbetween looking at photo’s and drinking cups a tea.

The squeegee is called Jerry – as the person I stole it from was called Peter, Tom for short. Me and that squeegee go back a long way – well as far as I can reach as i’m only 5 feet 7 inches. 😉
I think me tea’s been spiked
Off to print now – John

What a fantastic site, the majority of the shots on there are winners. Particularly like Gallery 1, STREET COP and HAVANA. Just wish I had his eye for photography. Thanks for sharing – John

Nice Dogs Marcella, Diesel do nicely.
You should post them on the stock or competition sites as Lynn said. There is a demand for animal pictures, just look at the votes on cats/dogs/bird photo’s on the competition site.Cheers John
