Something a little different, nice to play with solid wood once again.
Chestnut 60mm thick, edge effect created by hand carving after bandsawing to shape.

    Very nice.
Is the lettering vinyl or paint?
Have to admit though I love the smell of real life wood. 😕 Oh er missus 😀

Nice one Colin. Lovely piece of wood. I’m guessing it’s around 600mm wide? Do you have any problems with splitting or cupping/warping at that width or is 60mm thick enough to prevent it?

The wood was selected and moisture contents checked to make sure it was fine for exterior usage, it mount on 2 cross members with stainless steel screws in slotted holes to allow a little movement – This all should keep it from cupping or warping.
Lettering is cut vinyl (fun weeding 😮 )
