Boy Racer Graphics
We had a good laugh today.
This fellow turns up today to ask if I could do some lettering on his car – a Toyota Celica
Certainly says I 😀 (Alison recently lectured me on the importance of being civil to all our customers – not just the ones that I took a liking to – but all types, even boy racers and Bikers 😮 )
What would you like done to the car?
I was thinking of having the name “Celica” fitted to both sides. Starting from the back with a big letter “C” with the letters gradually getting smaller as it reaches the front of the car finishing with a small “A”
No problem (says I) but how would you like it to appear on the other side?
Exactly the same he says.
Right (says I )- In this case the big “C” would start at the front with the small “A” ending at the back? Or would you prefer a small “C” at the front ending with a large “A” at the back?
No – I want the big “C” on the back and the small “A” on the front on both sides
But the other side won’t spell “Celica” says I :lol1:
Just do it in reverse he says 👿
But no one will be able to read it says I :lol1: :lol1:
Yes they will – just do it the same as on the first side 👿
I’m sorry – I don’t understand (says I) can you sketch me what you mean 😉
He proceeded to try and sketch the other side and after a few seconds he gave up and said -I think I know what you mean. But I can’t get my head around it.
I explained that the other side would have to be drawn one of the ways I had explained at the beggining.
I’ll have to go away and think about it he says.
Half an hour later he came back with a big smile. Realisation had finally dawned. 😳 😳
A 50% deposit was paid – and he’s coming back tomorrow to have the lettering fitted.
Honest – this really happened :lol1: :lol1:

In my spare time I like to race radio control cars, I have been involved in this for quite a few years and during this time have done a few write-ups for one of the internationally renown magazines. About six months ago I was sent a Nissan 350z drift car to review, the bodywork on these models comes pre-painted leaving me nothing more to do than position the decals, I took one look at the decal sheet and laughed out loud because it seemed that the manufacturer had printed half of them the wrong way round How wrong I was 😮 (I must be getting old) I suppose in these days of text speak etc making its way into the English dictionary we have to expect all sorts.
