well as some may know last year i put a 5mm drill bit in through one side of the middle my finger and about two inches out the other side.. only to have to put the drill into reverse and remove before heading to hospital.. 😮 😕 bloody sore…..

well today, clever cloggs does something equally as stupid…
i was installing LED’s in 20 odd built up letters, these LED’s come in strips and 12 inch strips that can easily be snipped down in size.
working away in a world of my own, snipping away with some small but heavy duty scissors i proceeded to cut the tip off my finger with the scissors. 😮
it was like an electric shock going up my arm.. 😕 i looked down and there was part of my finger nail and tip off my finger lying on table…
ohhh the throbs of my finger just typeing this… 🙁
after a clean up and a walk around our workshop to get my head back together i took a wee piccey to share with you all….
hope this idiots lack of attention makes you work that little bit safer around the workplace!!
no matter how much you think you know what your doing, bam… there goes another digit :lol1: :lol1:

the picture below although hiding the grotty bit, isnt for the light hearted… look away now….

    i said look away…..

    look away damn it!

    you asked for it! :lol1:

Glad you were quick with the camera Robert! Always looking out for us. 😀 I always like when I cut my middle finger, then I can wave it in the air to show everyone.
Can we expect a nice demo soon on how to bandage a finger?

Excellent! Well done, that’s quite a good one. I did the exact same injury with a scalpel once. (Well about a dozen times actually!) It’s amazing how it grows back; no sign of it after a couple of months.

    Thanks for sharing Rob. 😀

    Rob,

That’s nothing but a scratch – oh get a brezzer down your neck and you’ll be right :lol1:

    The lesson to be learnt here is;

When working with LED’s always remember what it stands for – “Lopping Erroneous Digit’s”

There’ll be no nose mining for you for a few days 😮

    Mark

P.S. Brave man for showing us – thank you!

P.P.S. There could have been more blood to look at 🙄

Thanks for that Robert. Time to switch off the pc and try to get my legs working again. Funny how it makes ones legs go all tingly looking at someone else’s blood. Have a beer or two mate you deserve it. Industrial accident ?

mark… more blood? man oh man if you saw the blood…
if you look close you see all the dried blood between my fingers.
the little splurt of blood on the table came from the initial SNIP… :lol1:
Even now when i bend finger the blood seeps through.. 😕

leigh… your right.. should have went to hospital tp get it dressed proper.
but i am so hard, i drink bacardi breezers 😮 :lol1: water melon and pineapple 😉

ouch that has to really hurt ! :yikes:

Your fingers must be a mess bigG 😀 on the couple of occasions I’ve done a bad one with a scalpel I never got the feeling back in the tip of my finger (sorry Rob but it’s true 😕 ) I think once you sever the nerves they don’t seem to knit together again very well.

Anyway, at least it’s not your typing finger Rob 😀

I ran my thumb over a circular saw blade once. That’s still a bit numb 13 years later.

Don’t forget your home remedy that you suggested to me Rob, when I had those blisters. I think it was something about soaking the wound in salt and vinegar. :bigwink:

    Errrrrrrr

Probably not the best thing 2 have done! lol

If anyone knows what a foot guilotine is, well they are like mini shears, and very sharp, fo those who dont know.

Sereral years ago, one of the metal workers not looking, or paying any attention to what he was doing, decided to chop the top off one of his fingers! Make matters worse, he has to use this by thumping down with his foot to operate it!

Really was not a pretty sight.

So hope you ok Rob, and it heels quickly for you.

At least we will all recognise you at Sign UK…

    You’ll stick out like a sore thumb….LOL

You’ll also now find out how much you actually do with your left hand.

I worked in a chemical plant for 11 years and the ammount of accidents involving injuries to the hands were unbelievable. We came up with our own safety slogan, remember this and you will always have 10 digits

“Never put your fingers where you would’nt put your co(k”

    Hope it heals quickly Rob
    Cheers

If it makes you feel any better, I drilled my forehead a couple of years ago, oh and the fell off the ladder to top it off. Blood was lost would be an understatement.

Bit of super glue will sort you finger in no time 😀

About the only risk of injury I am exposed to these days is paper cuts. Sodding office work!

Oh man that must hurt!! Mind you, seeing the pictures just turned me off my tea!! (fish fingers and tomato sauce 😥 )

I sliced my nipple once, and stabbed my armpit a few times puting my knife back in my pocket. That was bad enough, but putting a pointy end on my index finger would be the living end!

The wife sliced off the tip of her finger when we were first married. Don’t remember much…. after I fainted 😳

About 20 years ago, I sliced 3 fingers on my right had down to the bone. I fainted then too. Some poor bloke tried to catch me, I woke up wondering what was so soft underneath me. It was this little guy yelling ‘get him off me!!”

Glad I was not there Rob, I would have been no help at all 😳

    Hope all goes well mate.

    Cheers
