    Hi

we have a box luton to wrap in the next week or so – only the box section so all flat panels, the box part of the van is grp so shouldn’t be any real problems except I cant get the van in my unit so will be working outside.

With the current temperatures I am worried about the cold application – do I need to worry? Has anyone done similar?

    any advice would be welcome

    thanks

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

I can’t give any advice but I’m hoping the advice will be that things should be ok, at least the same as when applying normal (non digi) vinyl in the cold on (cold) flat panels. Maybe just use a heat gun (carefully) to wake up the glue a bit after application.

    Here’s hoping I’m not wrong……..

    Not ideal circumstances Colin.

The only advice I can give is to get as much heat on it as you can.

or heat in it. Is there a way to heat the panels from the inside if it is single skinned. Used a space heater before to help or a couple of oil fed rads on for a couple of hours

Thanks for your advice weather looks to be getting colder over next week as well Doh!!

Heating up from the inside may be a good way of doing it

But not if it’s insulated. 😀

Inside heating helps in single skin vans, but I think it would take a lot of heat and a long time before it made much difference through a box van with walls of, what, three quarters of an inch thick?

True John, the only ones I have done are for removal companies and have always been single sided, even then it takes time

have spoken with the client and they are going to wait till the weather warms up a little.

Looks like they may have a long wait !

Or you could phone round to find a friendly haulage garage / warehouse that will let you do it indoors.

Throw them £50 for the ‘rent’ – all three parties are winners.
