  • Blank gate and door number signs- Suppliers please

Posted by Emma Louise Oates on September 19, 2009 at 2:08 pm

    Hi,

I’ve had a look through the toolbar, and it’s more than possible I’m just being blind, but I can’t find a supplier of what I’m looking for. We’re trying to source the signs people use on gates etc in metal, resin, ceramic, plastic- just blank so we can apply vinyl.

    Anyone have any supplier names?

    Thanks for your help,

    Emma

You are legally not allowed to do them Emma, unless you personally know the owner of the house and had tea with Hobnobs in the front room with the curtains open while the man of the house is on the 6th thread of the stairs and his wife was standing on one foot pouring your tea at percisely 3 minutes past four on a Friday. It’s the law I’m afraid! 🙁 😀

I think this is me just not being clear- meant to say for beware of the dog etc? I am totally thrown by not being allowed to make a number for a door though!??

    😮

    Thanks you two 🙂

It’s the same with dogs – you need to see their pedigree certificates and keep detailed records before you can make a sign saying "Beware of the dog"

    😳

    Harry started it :worry:

    Hi Emma Louise

I know you didn’t mention wood but on the toolbar under UK Suppliers / Traditional Signage / Supplies have a look at Morans Wood Components.

They do a range of blanks that can have vinyl applied. I have used them
    several times for house names.

    Cheers

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Thanks very much, I must have overlooked them, wood is certainly something we are looking to use so this is ideal! Thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction 🙂

And Harry, great site there too, thanks, will be using them I think. Off to get some quotes… 😀
